From single cells to a model of IBD
A short note on our npj Systems Biology and Applications paper linking longitudinal single-cell data to deterministic modelling of inflammatory bowel disease.
In 2024 we published Longitudinal single-cell data informs deterministic modelling of inflammatory bowel disease in npj Systems Biology and Applications (Kilian, Ulrich, Zouboulis, et al.).
The core idea is to let high-resolution, longitudinal single-cell measurements constrain a deterministic model of IBD — so the model is not only mathematically tidy, but grounded in how cell states actually change over time.
I care about this bridge between omics-scale observation and mechanistic modelling: it is one route toward tools that are both data-rich and clinically interpretable. More notes on methods and follow-ups may appear here later.
